Abstract

This   session will outline evidence that supports including big conversations   around educational reform into the pre-service teacher education   landscape.  This discussion will be   framed by the mid-point findings of a study examining the pre-professional   development of four pre-service teachers during an innovative pre-service   teaching placement on a housing construction site.

Amy Burns

Dr. Amy Burns is a faculty member and the Director of Field Experience with the Werklund School of Education.  Her research interests include non-traditional educational environments and the effects of policy on educational reform.  Her primary areas of focus are pre-service teacher education and educational leadership.
