Critical reading skills are essential to student engagement and effective learning. Guided reading with peer collaboration can foster students’ abilities to read and reflect on course material. In this session I present a guided reading process, followed by small group discussions of how it could be adapted to various contexts.
Tabussom Qureshi recently obtained her PhD in Chemistry. During her graduate studies she was a Teaching Assistant for many different undergraduate science courses and labs (Analytical, Physical, General and Organic Chemistry). She is passionate about teaching and learning, and focused on helping students reach their potential in academia.
