Abstract

This   presentation will share insights from an innovative faculty development pilot   project that explored integrating strengths-based pedagogy and elements of   relational inquiry in an undergraduate nursing program.  Specifically, the 11-weeks of 1-hour   follow-up sessions where time/space was created for meaningful conversations   about faculty/instructor teaching practices and learning’s.

 

Bios

Brenda Juby

Brenda Juby is a limited term contract instructor at the University of Calgary with expertise in strengths-based approach, and nursing education. She holds a Master of Nursing degree from the University of Victoria with a focus on nursing education. Brenda has been teaching undergraduate nursing students since 2009.

 

Marc Hall

Marc is a Research Associate with the Faculty of Nursing. He received his BA in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and his MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from University College London. His current role involves assisting faculty and students in conducting post-award activities (i.e., ethics, recruitment, data collection, analysis, etc.).
