Abstract

This session will present initial findings and three completed online modules from a study aimed at   providing sessional instructors in a school of Education with any time, any   place, any pace educational development opportunities.  It will discuss impact and the need for   flexible access to learning conversations for sessional instructors.

 

Bios

Amy Burns

Dr. Amy Burns is a faculty member and the Director of Field Experience with the Werklund School of Education.  Her research interests include non-traditional educational environments and the effects of policy on educational reform.  Her primary areas of focus are pre-service teacher education and educational leadership.

 

Yang (Flora) Liu

Yang (Flora) Liu is the Learning and Instructional Design Specialist in the Faculty of Social Work. Flora’s work is to provide quality support to online teaching activity and course/module design and development. Currently Flora is also a PhD Candidate of Learning Sciences at Werklund School of Education. Her research interests involve teacher-designed games and computer supported collaborative learning.
