Abstract
The facilitator and a participant from a program designed to provide graduate students from across a university with opportunities to participate in significant conversations about teaching and learning discuss how these intentional conversations led to deeper understanding of our work as scholars and teachers.

Kimberley A. Grant
Kimberley A. Grant is a teacher educator and a PhD Candidate in Curriculum and Learning at the Werklund School of Education. Past editorial manager of Teaching & Learning Inquiry, she now leads the SoTL Foundations Program for Graduate Students at the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning.
Emma Spooner
Emma Spooner is a PhD Candidate in English at the University of Calgary. She studies 18th century transatlantic fiction. To start conversations about learning she makes her students read 18th century poetry.
